so this is goodbye

I am officially writing as a yellowhouse alum, which I think was the original intent of Grace starting this blog, so we could keep everyone posted on our lives, even when we weren't necessarily living at the Yellow House, aka The Big Yellow Joint. Anyway, so many good times were had during my last weeks in Provo that I had to share them with everyone.

Batting Cages and Pink Floyd Laser Show (04/26/08)

When I think of fun, I think laser show. So we (Allen, Dantz, Des, Tree, and me) decided to take a trip up to SLC to see the Pink Floyd laser show. We stopped by Boondocks on our way up to hit some balls at the old batting cages. There was quite a long line, it was cold outside, and we were surrounded by some very unhappy people, including a very large Tongan guy, who was growing quite impatient behind the guys. However, a good time was had by all, and we left with the feeling that this was a much better experience than any had at Trafalga.

Who knew the Clark Planetarium would be so fun? After entertaining ourselves with the many science exhibits, we decided to explore the gift shop. We came across a lollipop with a scorpion in the middle of it. Allen ate it for $5, scorpion and all.

31 Cent Scoop Night and LOTR Trivial Pursuit (04/30/08)

31 cent scoops of ice cream from Baskin-Robbins. What more could you ask for than Love Potion #31, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Pralines 'n Cream? Maybe a mini Joslin and Crocker Jacks? I think this was the best $0.31 I've ever spent.

"What two spots are the Uruk-hai's body armor weakest, according to Legolas?" If you can answer this question, you either have a really good memory or you should've been playing LOTR TP with us. Lembas bread was provided to fill the stomach of a grown man with one bite.

Redwood Drive-in (05/02/08)

We piled 11 of us (Grace, Nate, Joslin, Dave, Verl, Allen, Des, Megan, Dantzel, Brynne, and me) in a minivan, Dantzel's family poop, and Nate's car, to watch one good flick (Iron Man) and one not-the-best flick (Drillbit Taylor). We had enough snacks to feed a movie-watching army and enough blankets to warm them too. It was such a fun night that I recommend we do it again when I come back.

Real Salt Lake vs LA Galaxy (05/03/08)

Two words: David Beckham. He looked great out on the field and even better when he took his shirt off. Tied game, 2-2. What else can I really say about the game?

Roommate Picnic (05/05/08)

There is no better picnic than one shared with your bestest hump day treats and the Colonel (I'm talking about KFC, obviously). Good food, good company, good pics (esp. with the Polaroid camera), and sprinklers made this day oh so wonderful. The only thing that was missing was our dearest Grace face. Wish you were there.

Last Dinner at Bajio's (05/06/08)

Flauta Bajio, oh how I love you. I will definitely miss Bajio's when I am in DC. No wonder I never really liked Mexican food; it's because there are no good Mexican restaurants in the MD/VA area. This was such a good last night. Thanks to all who came out for it (but not to Verlan, who demanded a "V" cake even after all I've done for him). Sorry this pic is not the best of everyone; we were struggling a bit.

So that's it. I don't have pics from my last day, but nothing really to note. We went to Jason's Deli to fill up on sandwiches and soft serve. I cried a lot. I just miss everyone so much. I never would've thought I'd have such a hard time leaving Provo, but I did. However, I plan on returning soon. I love you all. Don't forget me...haha.
