G'Day Mates!

So I finally have a few minutes and a fairly decent internet connection, and I want to write a quick blog about Australia. Overall the trip has been so so so fun! Lots of things that go wrong, from getting lost on the train to having weird men hitting on us at the footie games to always having to show up to church late because that's the earliest bus we can catch. But luckily the girls I'm with are great so we all just laugh at it all the time.

The first 3 weeks here were spent in clinicals, with time for fun on the weekends. I'm just going to throw up some pics and talk about the highlights.

First, Phillip Island. One weekend we got a bus to drive us out here and they have a great park where you can buy feed and get all the kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, and just about any other animal they have in the park to come up and eat out of your hands. The ones with the joeys in the pouch were the greatest, but the most aggressive too. I'm not going to lie about how one got a little antsy and felt me up. Awkward.
Okay the 2nd thing also comes from Phillip Island. They have a penguin parade, where you can watch little penguins come in from the ocean to the burrows every night. Great fun. They have a gift store set up and the theme there is "Penguins do it every night." Sorry that I'm immature and I think that is absolutely hilarious. So here's Me, Brittany, and Lindsay sporting foam visors with the theme. Classic. Number three probably goes to the Great Ocean Road drive. Such a beautiful beautiful road. It took us nearly all day, but was so worth it. So picturesque. Below is part of the 12 apostles. Great day. Although the bus we were on reminded me of Crocodile Dundee, the heat was up so I was roasting, and my legs fell asleep.

Number four has to be the footie game. This sport is awesome. It's like a mix of rugby and soccer and I don't even know what else. The men are all very attractive, and if you're lucky like me, you get seated next to a guy named Steve. Who is 33 and loves single American nursing students. Let's just say it was a long first half sitting next to a progressively drunker Steve until I moved for the second half. Here's a pic I tried to get out of, but Steve noticed and pulled me back in at the last moment.

We're going to have to cut this off at 5 because of the internet connection here, but I think you guys are getting a fair idea. Number 5 has to come from Melbourne. Mostly because I love Melb and we spend every weekend there, despite close to 3 hours of travel time. Great city. Today we went to an art museum, and look at what we found.....
I don't know which is more disconcerting, how they consider this art, or how they think of men.

Basically, I love Australia.

Argentina

I am going to Argentina!  I expect you all to sing "Don't cry for me Argentina" as I am leaving.  I am really excited!  However, when I found out my call was at the house, I didn't even want to go home.  I didn't want to open it--I was so nervous!  Did I really want to do this?  Maybe I was scared to be a missionary or maybe I was just scared to go to North Dakota.  I was nervous.  But when I read Argentina Salta Mission, I knew I was called from God and I felt peace.

Completely off the subject, here is a picture of the Jesusita fire taken right outside my house.  We did not have to evacuate and the fires are under control now, but it was getting really close.

I love you guys so much and would love to hear how you are doing.  I want to give a shout out to my girfs for being such great examples, beacons of light, and most of all smiles, laughs, fun, and love in a time when needed.

So it turns out I don't really care about listening to student presentations during my class.  I got tired of creeping everyone else's blogs, so I decided to update you on the haps at the yellow house. 

Caitlin is now officially on her mission.  I know she's know a member of the yellow house, but I feel like everyone knows her anyway.  B and me went all the way to Idaho to go her farewell, which was nice bonding time we needed.  Also, we found some of my cds from high school, so that kept us pretty well entertained.  I had great music selection in high school, in case you're wondering.

Jos came to visit which we already posted about but it was fab! Love you long time Jos, and we want everyone else to come back too.

Here's a good story.  One sunday I was sitting next to Sam in Sunday school.  Then we had a combined meeting for priesthood/relief society, and I moved to go sit by the rugby boys.  That didn't go over the greatest, and so I decided to write Sam a nice note about it.  I started to say sorry, but then a great quote from Mean Girls popped into my head, so I wrote that instead. Then after church I got a note from Sam, and it said almost the exact same thing!  We were sitting across the room from each other, and hadn't seen or talked about this movie in months.  I think that's when you know you're real friends.

And last but not least, some sad news for the yellow house.  Apparently the owners are doing some remodels this summer.  All the rooms will be shared as of next year, and rent has been raised to $325/Month plus utilities and internet.  AKA...I'm poor and have now been forced out of a house.  Soooo when we have YHR 2010 we're just going to have to kick some girls out.  That's what. And I'm homeless. 

Other than that, school is rocking all of our lives, and we can't wait for summer.  Come back soon and let's have bbqs and play badminton and sleep on the tramp. And slurpees.  Love love love.

I saw Elephants on the Street

One time it was midnight and my roommate Karli said the Circus is going down 7th avenue! Want to go see it? Yes I want to go see but I have work in the morning. But I made the right choice don't worry. I felt like we were on the movie Jumanji.

Girlfriends. Dantzel and I are currently sitting on the tramp missing all of you like crazy. We even almost cried - please don't think that we're joking either. Instead of crying, we decided to let you join in on the fun. 

These pics and the vid are just to let you know we miss you and want you to all quit school (Grace) and work (Grace, Beth and Jos) and your mission (Megan) and come back to the yellow house. 

p.s. Jos got here today and we love her!! There's more room at the house. Just waiting for you guys.

Everything I ever knew about my girls I learned on Facebook.

But it is really true. My free time has gone from 24 hours to 2 hours but I use about 50% of that to check up on everyone. Don't think I'm creepy. This is what I gather.

Dantzel: All the boys in Provo love her and just can't stop. She has become the hot topic of the BYU 74th ward. Everyone loves her bangs and her plaid nightie. She will be going to Australia in a few months and Jacinta is very excited about that. Her & Sam are Bfff and she is keeping the yellow house spirit alive until we all get back.

Megan: From her letters: she's doing really nice things for people who don't know about the gospel. She has a native speaking companion..that's all i can remember. Sometimes I still check her facebook or go through her albums because I can't get enough of the commentary and variety of pictures.

Joslin: Loving life in Santa Barbara and taking cute pictures with girls on couches. Friends with our friend from highschool Amanda Robinson! (sorry, i'm being so creepy!) Maybe going to grad school? Teaching lots and lots I think. Probably looking so tan and blonde and beautiful.

Beth: Having a boyfriend, working a real person job and learning all these life skills on the side. One day I will actually catch her on g chat! I am very hopeful. Someday I will see her soon too. She was going to go to Utah and ski but then couldn't because of work.

Brynne: Great updates on the blog. Having so many cute pictures with Treevor. Loving her life and Korea and work (not really) and school sometimes. Probably still not sleeping much but always wearing great outfits. Always merry happy and poking me.

What can we learn from mine? That my family now has facebook haha and that since Jacinta left my life looks more than boring. I really feel excited about that reunion that will happen someday. love you all! Now you need to tell me more than what I learn on facebook.

Beth Chon Day

Ladies I'm an awful blogger, but in honor of Beth Chon's day of birth, I've decided to post.  Beth you're the greatest, and I decided to post lots of pics in honor and memory of our times together.  Also, all the things I love about you.  Love you long tyme girf!

I hope you have a fabulous day!  I miss you in Provo every day when I want to walk in your room to paint my nails and just talk about life and you're not there.  Also, no party is nearly as efficiently planned or prepared for since you've been gone.  Basically, you need to come back.  Love love love!
