first off i wanted to say:
i this the only picture we have of all six of us without other people in it?
if not, please direct me to another one because i can't think of one.

also. today i was just following joslin's lead and looking through photos of our ward activity at that cabin and couldn't help but post a few pictures that i feel might have never made their way on here? and if they have? well it is time for them to be on here again.

BEST

was d in taiwan? i feel sad she wasn't here this day.

i really like this photo minus the book ends!
i guess i could have cropped them out but this seemed like a funner option.

okay i love you girfs bye!

Look at these!

Dave and I have been doing a lot of sorting through our pics and tonight I came across the entire folder of pics from Nate and Annelisa's wedding reception! I can't believe that was 3.5 years ago!

dot chon's life be like

really brynne, this was such a good idea. i love hearing about how everyone is doing and i'm so happy for you all. i really wish everyone could've been at the reunion, but this will not be the last time...promise. we really missed you though :(

so i am sorry i've been such a terrible blogger. it's taken me a little while to get back in touch with technology and the real world. i think i had a sensory overload when i came back from the mish and i kinda became a hermit, but now all is good and i am back in the game.

so here's my update...

back from the mission: 4 months, 1 day

what i've done since i've been back: after taking some time to recover from the trauma of being released as a full time missionary, i finally got my old job back at the fed. i'm working in the same unit, under the same boss, but in a different office and with some different projects. do i like it? yes. it's nice to be busy again and to feel apart of something. do i still miss the mission? yes - every day of my life.

in addition to re-entering the work world, i've been super active in the church (yay for not going less-active post-mish). i've been very busy with my callings, but i love it. when i first got home, i went out with the missionaries a lot (since i had so much free time, esp. during the day). i have really came to love all missionaries. i love slipping them some cash whenever i see them on the street or buying them food or giving them back rubs (okay, not really the last one), but i just get so happy when i see them working hard and bringing souls unto Christ.

i have also really enjoyed working with the people in my ward. since coming back, i have felt this desire to help my fellow members reach their fullest potential. so i've decided to do it in the most unique way possible. how? well, they call me the ward "yenta". i basically find ways to match people together so they can fulfill the commandment to "multiply and replenish the earth". this was spurred on by a video i saw a couple months back, some conference talks that i had heard, and the realization that i and my peers weren't getting any younger. how's it going? we just had our first ward date this past weekend - it was basically a three-course meal where you had a date with a different person for each course (so 3 dates in one night). i think it was a success. everyone seemed to have had a lot of fun and some digits were exchanged that night.^^ what qualifies me to be the ward matchmaker? um, nothing. i am no expert on dating as i don't do a lot of it. but i do love to see people come together. if you have any ideas for matchmaking, please feel free to share.

and in my free time, i make trips out to utah to see friends and fam. this past visit was so much fun. i just wish utah wasn't so far away or that i could teleport. it was so fun to catch up with everyone and see your beautiful faces (which i must say everyone looked so good). plus i got to watch conference at the former yellowhouse, now blue house. funny story - i was staying at my friend's house in provo and she lives in the same ward as the former yellowhouse. since she didn't have a tv to watch it on we went to the yellowhouse and it was a surreal experience. they repainted the inside and it feels a little cleaner than when we lived there, but they don't have fun parties or climb on the roof or have a trampoline on their lawn or have barbecues or have a couch on the porch that they sit on and greet people coming back from class or have goats coming to visit or have yard sales and visits from the ice cream man or have mattresses in the living room where they have sleepovers or have the memories that we did...it just wasn't the same. but the creeper that i am, i took some now pictures of our former house.

the living room - with the heater that grace used to always lay on top of :(

our old dining room where we shared so many meals together :(

i feel blue when i see this :(

i think i scared those little boys that lived there, just going on and on about the house and the good ole days. and then taking pictures and maybe mentioning that we had a blog dedicated to the house. oh well, it wasn't the first time i ever scared someone and it won't be the last.

oh girfs, i love this house because it brought us all together. when megan and i were driving around when i came out, we were reminiscing about how times at the yellowhouse were bliss. i don't really remember any bad times because i always had my girlfriends. i am glad that everyone is doing so well now and living good lives, but i miss you all. i hope we can have another reunion soon, or at least a big skype fest in the meantime. i'm going to start saving my money so i can buy that house and paint it yellow again and then it can be our summer home.

i look forward to reading and writing more posts on this blog!! until then, 사랑해 (i love you)!

Did you see this?

Oh yeah and sorry I didn't include my biggest update in my life update!

yh reunion yh reunion yh reunion

so i blogged about it and then realized it was on my other blog? but i'm going to try to copy and paste. yes it worked! but the pictures have to be real small so maybe the other one looks nicer?

like conference, i need this to happen every weekend too.
finally met in real life outside of the mtc! and in the mhs parking lot of all places haha

this moment makes me tear up a bit. three whole years!

we had a reunion with the yellow house girls (so sad b and grace couldn't make it!) last weekend and it was the best.

it was especially great when we got to joslin's new place and found out that by some coincidence she not only lived in brynne's old house but also brynne's room hahha

we tried to take some self timed photos inside and it just didn't work out at all.

so we went outside..and on the way found some letters to spell grfs. (girfs..there wasn't an i)

and thanks to joslin's little sister and friend were able to have ourselves a real nice girfs photoshoot

we took a photo in grace's honor
(pelvic thrust)

and one for brynnie
(why am i the only one that remembers her childhood go-to dance move?)

it was a really really really nice time.
i have no idea why God liked us so much to let us all live together but i'm way grateful for it.
i love you girfs!

Grace's life be like

I figured I better do this now or I will just keep putting it off. I think those Oprah questions are hilarious (business goals, words to describe you, etc) so I'll just do a word update.

So I live in Cambridge, MA right on the border of Somerville (this lady told me to not admit that I live anywhere near Somerville. I guess I need to be more snotty) I think Somerville is kind of cool but yeah, not as nice as Cambridge. We live in a tiny 1 bedroom that is northeast of Harvard Yard. So I just walk along with Harvard students and feel like I'm really smart even though I'm just going to buy hot chocolate or ice-cream at Harvard square. I feel like 125% happier here for some reason. The Bronx was a great experience but living here and being surrounded by schools is my favorite. Fun fact - I realized that I have lived by schools every since I graduated from high school! Provo (BYU), SLC (UofU), NY (FIT then NYU), Bronx (Einstein - but I didn't know anyone in those buildings and I always felt lame and it wasn't really a school neighborhood), and then now.  I think college towns = lots of fun places to eat and old houses turned into college houses and just all sorts of fun stuff. Sadly, we'll only be here for 9 months to a year but when we move back to NY - maybe it will be to some place nice?

I'm just working it up at home everyday for this great blog. Lately I've been getting lots of free office supplies and doing fun stuff with them so that's pretty fun. I really like it because I can wake up and work in 5 minutes (which means I get up at 9am everyday) and I can decide to be done as soon as I feel done (but I really do work at least 30hrs a week). Sometimes it's sad to work by myself all day but Dave is usually in and out and Brynne is my best co-worker and I get to talk to her on g chat all day. (you can talk to me too! I'm seriously on all day most days) Maybe someday I'll do something different? I tried that all last year and got sick of that ( fashion school, a million internships, etc) and decided to be happy with my job and not try to make my random passions my new career goals.

We've only been here for a month so we haven't done that much but we've wandered around our area a lot and I've been making quilts and going to this cool looking Harvard gym, plus Dantzel and her parents came, and there are lots of nice people that live by us. I also feel sad that I can't just bring my college/ growing up friends with me everywhere I go. The instant best friend just doesn't really happen, especially when you are trying to work really hard and you don't just have kids to play with their kids and hang out all day.

Dave is doing a Masters in Public Health at Harvard. He still has one more year of medical school so that is why we are moving back to new york in a year. His program is so cool! I'm really jealous. He's learning so much about the healthcare system and economics and all sorts of great stuff. Masters degrees are very expensive but I think this one has really brought a whole new perspective to his life.

I'm not sure what else to say about life but I hope that was a good update. I guess I could mention that I watch funny cat videos and listen to Taylor Swift all the time.

I can't wait to read dantzel, beth, and jos updates! Way to go Megan and Brynne for keeping this blog alive.

megan's life be like.

because i too have a job where i sit at a computer all day i will take the brynne/oprah challenge.
  • Who was your favorite celebrity as a child? my mind is drawing a blank. buuut i was pretty obsessed with jennifer garner from the age of 14 to about 16. then she went and married ben affleck and ruined EVERYTHING. i had to stop watching alias, i couldn't enjoy 13 going on 30 anymore or even dare devil. it was awful.

  • If you were invisible, where would you go? the set of modern family

  • What traits in others are you attracted to? all the traits my girfs have

  • What is the kindest thing anyone has done for you? ryan made me a mission book which was really the nicest.

  • How do you want to be remembered? i just want people to like my jokes

  • If you were on an island, who would you want to be with? WHY MY GIRFS OF COURSE

  • You have a 10 minute speech to give at a high school, what is it about? enjoy your life now because it is going to be way dumb in like five years. hahaha jk.
  • your life be like.

i realize not everyone has the time to sit in front of a computer all day and think about every aspect of their life as they work sooo if you don't want to write out like me...answer this questionnaire from oprah!

    my life be like..

hi! my name is brynne. brynne frei. i currently live in west la, california. i'm 24 years old and am originally from murray, utah. i'm the youngest of 6 and newly married as of january this year. i graduated from UVU with a degree in psychology and spent a semester in seoul, korea.

that's a basic introduction that i give almost every day. boring.

we're going to play a game called catch me and grace up on everything that was discussed at YHR 2011! we feel sad and left out and feel like that shouldn't be the case. no one wants to be sad and left out, right? right. we're always right.

so here's what a detailed catch up would look like:

i'm currently working as a receptionist and enjoying it. i work regular business hours, pretty much only answer phones with a couple projects to do on the side throughout the week but it's pretty basic. i reeeally like that i get full benefits and a pretty flexible schedule and everyone is really nice!

tanner is a nice husband and studies all all all the time but still makes time to hang out with me so i appreciate that. law school = definitely his thing and we're happy about that. beaches are really fun to go to and we also like all the museums and plan to visit them lots more. LA weather is preeetty unreal to us at this moment because it's rained twice and pretty much sticks around 70 degrees all the time. what?

sometimes i feel real sad because i live away from everyone and making friends is scary and hard but we're working on it and go to dinners and game nights with people. i just need to remember that someone doesn't become your best friend overnight - though i wish that were the case. but i will say that moving away from home with a husband is muuuch better than moving away by yourself. built in best friend, support system and everything you could ask for.

things i'm into right now: spotify and making playlists. except i'm not really into it because it stresses me out a lot but i have a lot of time to do it. listening to programs on the mormon channel. home decorating. cooking and baking. trying to get myself back into knitting and teaching myself the ukulele. oh and let's not forget cleaning - i'm really good at that too. i'm trying to improve my photo taking skills but then get scared because i don't feel comfortable taking photos around new people so i just take sneak pictures with my iphone. oh! and the nike training app on my phone. i really like doing the work outs from that and my body always hurts after.

today is warm with clear blue skies. i'm looking at a mini pumpkin my co-worker gave me and wearing socks with my oxfords and feeling great about it. people are filming a portion of a new movie in our parking lot and i keep obsessing over this man's deep, husky voice. i'm excited for the weekend to come when we'll hang out with our friend's tyler and clare and probably go to a pumpkin patch and play games. and have stake conference this week.

which reminds me! i'm in young womens and i like it. the first time i went to an acitivity two girls jumped into my car and said "we're riding with you!" and got into the backseat. i quickly let them know one of them could sit in the front and received the response of, "oh. we're going to be talking." and the first day of school gossip commenced. i tried not to laugh, felt uncomfortable and slowly pulled out of the parking lot and headed to the temple.

too long? nope. this was a mini g-chat. catch me up! that's my life unedited. really. i didn't read over any of it so please excuse typos and grammatical errors. anyway, enough about my life - let's hear about yours.

    Reunion Reunion!

    Hi,

Can we have a reunion sometime during the period of July 23 - Aug 4? (Ideally July 26 or 27 because other days may be difficult but I will make it work) Who's in? I really think all of us are in the US right now. Even Beth although there is no evidence of her yet.

Maybe we can have a picnic on the grass of our old house? I bet they would like that.

while we're on a posting spree...

maybe we were just needing inspiration?
here's a playlist from madewell i haven't listened to yet but i browsed it and the tunes seemed pretty okay!
    happy friday!

    !!!

i just feel so thrilled i finally have something to say i don't even know what to do with myself.

gals. i biked past the yellow/blue house today and
i HAD to show you how gross it looks.

    boo.

i was just so upset about all of this,
but then looked over and who is in the front lawn of yellow house?!

     oh just these fellows!
SO happy to see these guys. such a miracle since only david lives there!
such a great blast from the past.

i wish i would have known we were pelvic thrusting!

    david eff looooved cortina!

the first pictures didn't really do it justice so i took some more.
    sick.

(sidenote: even though they look gross all together
i think they look nice individually.
    why do i like weeds?)

    these are NOT weeds
(but they are of course at david eff's, NOT at the pirate ship)

and last but definitely not least.
    hey-o!
cat in the hat just came out of our house! with gf!
    he lives there!

    so these are my thoughts
    1. what. has. happened. to. our. house. ?
    2. i'm happy i saw our old friends
    3. can't wait for reunion at the end of july?
    4. beth gets home so soooon
    5. miss you
    6. the end i think.

    Where I've Been...

So I feel like every time I post I say I'm sorry for being a terrible blogger/slash friend and I vow to be better, but I never am. So this time I'll just say here's my one blog post for any potential number of months. I'm a horrible blogger as far as timeliness...something I've just grown to accept. On that note, here are things I've been happy about lately.

1--Jos is home!! So sorry that I was a working bum all weekend when you were here and couldn't get away from work/sleeping to play with you. If it makes you feel better, you are definitely not the only person in my life who got forgotten while I was working night shift.

2--Disneyland. I don't care how many times I have gone or how old I get or how it probably shouldn't be one of my favorite things anymore, but Disneyland still makes me feel like a giddy 12 year old. Couldn't get enough of everything there--all the rides, characters, but mostly spending some quality time with my sisters and watching madie's cheer squad take first at nationals.

After the big performance/before the great news.

Early morning on Alice in Wonderland. We are so adventurous.
Definitely stalked these two down until they stopped so we could take a pic with them.
3--Las Vegas. Reunion time with Jess and Kim who are living it up in the bay area. Our official reason for going was a friend's wedding...but really it was just an excuse to party/shop/see Jimmer. The trip involved a lot of dancing and jumping on the bed, getting upgraded for free, spending full days shopping, basketball, dancing, and singing at the top of our lungs to pop songs in the car. Basically, everything that I love.

Father time meets dumbledore meets merlin from the sword and the stone. I apologize for the way my face looks but this man is too great to keep to myself.

Free upgrade. Travel tip: always be really chatty with the maintenance man who fixes your t.v. He might tell the front desk he can't fix it just so you can have a better room for free.
4--Denver. Nephews. I'm obsessed with them. Ricky and Tisha were such great hosts and I always love to spend time with them. Denver is my official vacation spot as long as their family is there. Activities included the butterfly pavilion, outings at the park, and the lovely drive from colorado to utah so the boys could visit everyone else out here slash meet doug's fiancee.

Really though. Just look at his bald head. Love him.Snuggle time in Utah. I think we were watching a show about the Titanic. When they learned that some people died in the wreck Finlay turned to me and said "but it's okay because they will be resurrected!" That kid knows his stuff.

His cheeks. I always want to squish them.
Also, we taught Merrick how to Jimmer. He's great at it. Too bad he'll mostly likely be a shorty because he's got an early start.
5--Atlantis. I wish I was exaggerating when I say this is the best vacation I can remember going on in a long long time. Mostly I have a lot to say about this one so it's getting it's own post.

    The view from our window.

6--This is going to sound fake, but honestly I love my job. Even though I have to work all the time and somehow miss out on all the good times. And I'm back on day shift so I am alive again to the world. Success.
