i was just being an idiot.

like "click compose"
whoops. problems solved and i'm back from my photo posting hiatus.
since that happened - i moved back in with craig p and lin!
who doesn't love those cuties.
miss this gal, bkb, and roommate fest with her.
but something no one from the wilshire duplex misses = being charged millions of dollars for water bill.
don't think both sides of our house reaaaally used 130,000 gallons of water, utah.
thanks for the fun times with facebook photos and comments such as:
"130,000 x 2 gallons per month....You are invited to our party! The water runs all day every day. We keep it going til 6 in the morning...What's that your hot tub only uses 250 gallons to fill up? We use that in 10 minutes....Pushing so much water..we should be pablo escobar"
and
"attention come home and take 145 showers so we can earn our 130,000

gallons of water that we are paying for"

what would we do without those boys next door to fight our battles for us.

in other news - you missed tan the man during face chat, gracia.
this is what he looked like last night.
and how much megan likes being his friend.
remember when you used to not talk to him, or anyone for that matter, when you first got home?

Frozen Friends

I like being frozen friends with everyone.

What if we all live different places and we all have to be frozen friends with each other forever?? That makes me feel stressed.

Dear fellow posters. I think you just need to click on Compose at the top and it will give you the upload picture option? If not we can switch back to the old posting settings. IDK but I think that's what happened! Post away!

Pacha Mama

That's the name of the most popular cultural song in Peru. And we l-0-v-e-d it. If i can get it to work, I'll post a video of a band singing it while we were at dinner one night. Anyway...this is a long overdue post all about Peru. I promise lots of pictures and probably not a lot of words hopefully. Sooooo here we go.

First thing's first, Macchu Picchu. What an incredible place! We visited this place probably about halfway through our trip, so we'd seen a ton of other ruins and were nervous it would be more of the same, but honestly this was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen in my life. Got up suuuuper early to go hike Wayna Picchu as well, which is the mountain behind the ruins. Real hot because was in normal clothes, but so worth it. Here's a picture of me in front of the ruins. I was standing on some of the terraces used for farming, obviously excited to be there.

Good story. Right before this picture Jessie and I were tired so we decided to lay down and take a nap on the terrace. We woke up to some french couple standing over us and talking, so what do I do? Continue to pretend to be asleep. Naturally. Next there's a group of men speaking arabic or something and I'm feeling really awkard, so I just kept "sleeping." They finally went away when Jessie woke up and just looked at them weird.

Another group, who got a more spiritual tour of Macchu Picchu. They were kind of weird.

Just wanted you to see the outfits McDonald's employees wear down there.
Touring what is known as the Sistine Chapel of South America. Tons and tons of pretty gold and cool paintings, but we couldn't take any pictures inside.
Little cutie we found on the streets in Aguas Calientes, the city where you get on the bus to go up to Macchu Picchu. Sorry the lighting is so bad.
So guinea pig is apparently a big deal in Peru. They eat it for special occasions like holidays, weddings, etc. Our tour guide talked us into trying it, so we stopped at some small house on the side of the road. Kind of weirded me out, but was actually pretty good.
This is an old Incan ruin that was taken over by the Spaniards. It was really cool to see both of the cultures in one building.
This lady is just working real hard to get that hay up the hill. Thought it was a great pic.
Baby llama time. For cute. Just singing the theme song from Emperor's New Groove all week long. my life is complete.
A roadside stand on the bus ride between Cusco and Puno. Really I just like the baby tot in front.
The view from the lake as we came up on the floating Uros islands. These are so cool! They build the islands from reeds and anchor them to the bottom of the lake and then just live a simple life on the islands. Cool fact: the missionaries tract out there, and there's a small branch for the islands.
Traditional clothes worn on the Uros islands, and the governor of the island we visited. Each island typically consists of a few families, probably 10 max. There's one man who functions as the governor/island leader.
These are the natives of Taquile island, which is super far away from the mainland, but so cool. They all wear these traditional clothes, and different colors and items indicate whether men are married or single or leadership. Pretty cool. Their main source of income is handmaking sweaters and hats similar to the ones they wear.Life changing trout. Freshly caught and made by one of the local ladies. I don't think there was a meal for the rest of the trip where I didn't eat fish.Yep, this pose happened. On our way down the bajillion steps to get off of the island.
Great big ancient towers. Just cool because they are so huge.
In front of the city palace in Lima. Cool building but we couldn't go inside.
Weird, but funny. Apparently Peru has a problem with people dropping off their cats in public parks. Loved this sign. And to finish off the trip, we stopped at Universal Studios to go to Harry Potter land. Turns out it wasn't going to open for another 3 weeks. So here's my sad face in front of Hogwarts. Sorry about my nakes. It was hot.

So there you have it. Short and sweet, but a fairly okay summary of my trip to Peru.

Psych

Remember the time I had big plans to move to California? Well, not anymore. I was lucky enough to get a call from the ICU where I did my capstone and they offered me a position there! So, even though I was really excited to move to Palo Alto, it looks like the California plans have been put on hold. I decided this is an amazing opportunity that I can't really afford to pass up. The ICU is exactly the type of nursing I want to be doing, and I'm so excited to get started there!

Because no blog post is complete without a picture, here's a random one. This may or may not be one of the only pictures I have of myself in nursing school. You get the idea.

I'm never growing up

So here's the thing. Everyone hates me because I'm the worst blogger ever and I can't even blame you. And the worst part is this is what happens to me every time. Kind of like my journal writing stints. Anyway...basically what happened is I've been suuuuuuuper bored today, so here's an update with the pictures on my mom's computer in murray. This is going to be real random, and you'll get better posts about adventures like peru, lake powell, and cancun, but here's a bit of what's been going on lately.

Mostly this first picture has nothing to do with anything, except for how great I think my dad is. You probably don't even care, but this hat has become his most favorite summer fashion piece. True or false? He looks fierce (I may or may not have watched an America's Next Top Model marathon with my sisters today. I'm moderately embarrassed).
One holiday and I can't even really remember which one...maybe 4th of July? We decided to go up to Snowbird and play up there all day on the alpine slide and hiking around and such, here's a pic of some of the fam doing that. Again...notice the hat.
After that I turned 23, and Mike, Allie's husband, turned 24 the next day, so we had a joint celebration and even shared a birthday cake. For presh. It's a good thing I like Mike a lot and he's fun to share a birthday celebration with! I'm thinking 23 is going to be a big year.
Me, my dad, and my Grandfather on my birthday. Love these guys.
Nelson got married, hooray for that! It was a good excuse to have a Murray reunion, since the 5 year reunion never happened (ahem....grace...). Even though really I'm not even mad about it. Anyway, here's Nelson and Lauren coming out of the temple.
Let's talk about how obsessed I am with her dress. Sorry Nelson, that my mom cut you out of this shot, but really her dress was fantastic.
She is also great, in case you were wondering. Here's a pic of Melissa, Kimberly, baby Emma, and me. Love that baby tot and loved seeing those ringwoods/glovers.
I'm realizing now that I don't actually have any pictures of people from Murray, so maybe B, with that new iphone 4 could fill in the blanks for us here.

The Marsh girls.
And last but certainly not least, a little taste of what else is to come in future blog entries. A trip to Lake Powell, when Henry Marsh is the primary planner and facilitator.
P.S. I'm pretty sure you all know by now, but I've decided I'm moving to Palo Alto, California in September...middle/endish probably. It may only last a few months because I don't have a job and I don't have that much money. But I love an adventure, and I'm pretty sure moving to a new state without any employment prospects counts as an adventure.

i have lots of pics on my comp at home that are cooler than these.

i'm at work and alive.
doing my best to keep the scrapbooking world together.
luckily we get notes from crazy scrappers like this woman
who is apparently obsessed with stickers
and my company at the same time so that's really nice.
mostly i look forward to not being at work so i can hang with tanner.
and his roommate brandon has joined us the last couple days.
last night we all sat on tanner's bed and had a read-a-thon.

yellow house reunion at meg's house in prov?
okay. great idea. can't wait.
love and miss you all!

news.

dear best friends-
i finally found a place to live.
now this was hard because i couldn't fathom not living in the yellow house with all you lovelies. but since one of you is married, one of you lives in salt lake, two of you are outside of the country bein missionaries, and the last one was indecisive- i had to do it because school starts in five seconds.

so by some stroke of luck we found this guy-
yes. it is a real good second place winner to old yellow. the inside is full of antiques and i think you would all be obsessed with it. it is two blocks down from our old house so if anyone still wants to sabotage the pirate ship with me, i'm down.

please everyone stop having real lives and come back and live the provo all-star dream with me.

love,
meg

post script- efy ends soon so maybe we can all be friends again? just a suggestion.
